Frequently Asked Questions

Who?

If a cancer battle is currently affecting you in some way - directly or indirectly, or has in the past. If you desire a community of faith to join those who have this shared experience, a community group may be worth your consideration.

  • Those who have received a cancer diagnosis - past or present. The battle may be new, ongoing or already fought.

  • You may be a family member, close friend or colleague.

What…should I bring?

What…should I expect?

Bring yourself. Your tears, your testimony, your struggle and your questioning. Bring your experience, and your encouragement for others. Bring it all. You’re not designed to bear the weight of this journey alone.

You can expect to be encouraged and supported. You can expect to be prayed for and loved. Groups will join in worship, fellowship, prayer, study and mission. We’ll join in communion with one another, learn from God’s word, hear personal testimonies of hope and join in acts of service and outreach to our communities.

You can expect the offering of extra opportunities to come together - such as (but not limited to) nature walks, prayer walks, family barbeques, and seasonal excursions. We’ll also seek opportunities to bring in guest speakers.

Where?

Our regular gatherings will be held in a host community home or nearby alternative site. Once you’re connected, you’ll be provided with all the details you need.

When?

Our groups are designed to meet weekly. Coffee/beverages/snacks and open fellowship will generally begin 30 minutes prior to the official start time. Our time together will be scheduled for 90 minutes, but there will always be freedom to continue in fellowship or prayer thereafter. Your group leader will provide further details once you’re connected.

Why?

The spiritual needs of those impacted by cancer shouldn’t go unspoken. The struggles of those impacted can be immense, and we believe that it is vital to bring people together, and move forward in the mission to connect, support, and boldly bring the love and HOPE of Jesus to those impacted by cancer in our communities.
